[ogWiFi] Restrictions to public sites via ogWifi

I am turning to the list to find some solutions to content filtering.
We have a potential hotspot owner who do not wish the users accessing
the Internet via his ogWifi hotspot to have access to certain sites. The
sites mentioned are of shady renown.
This is a question that keeps coming back. This fear is slowing down
adoption of hotspots. I think we need to address this and find an
appropriate solution.
In my opinion, I do not think ogWifi (nor wifidog) should get involved
with content filtering. I do not think it is part of our mandate, nor
would we be good at it. Furthermore, I suspect this kind support would
increase the support calls to the point that we would not be able to
operate on a volunteer basis.
On the other hand, a hotspot owner has control on the Internet
connection and he/she can install any content filtering upstream of the
ogWifi router.
Currently, I am recommending the use of OpenDNS. The DNS setting in the
upstream router can be set to OpenDNS. Then, the owner can register with
OpenDNS and monitor/constrain the addresses served.
Does anyone out there have anything else to recommend?
Thanks,
JP
