Hello Michael,
There are variety of options with more memory, USB capabilities,
faster CPU, hard drives, etc but none of them are as widely spread or
supported as the Linksys. Depending on what you are looking for you
can look at http://oldwiki.openwrt.org/TableOfHardware.html
For general information: You can purchase WRT54GL cheaper at
http://www.shoprbc.com/ca/shop/product_details.php?pid=13423 . The
store is local and they usually have them in stock.
